20 Time Update


Today, I decided for sure that the song I will play all the way through is House of Gold. I will still need to work on this song some to be able to play it as well as I want to, so that will be my main goal for the near future. I will do this by making it the song that I play the most whenever I play at home in the evening. House of gold does have a fairly simple chord structure, so I might try to add some things to make it my own when I play it.

20 Time

As I am very behind in my blog posts and I have been doing basically the same thing this entire time, I decided to put all of my posts into one post instead of posting the same thing 5 separate times. For the last few weeks I have been working on the script for the voice over in my film. I not actually very far because I have had writer's block for a lot of things recently. So far I have 94 words. It isn't much but it certainly a start.

20 Time Update

Seeing as how we will now not be presenting in front of the whole class now, I am going to tune down my presentation from an entire medley to simply playing one song all the way through. The song that I play all the way through will most likely be House of Gold, as I am decent at this song, and I do have the whole thing memorised. Potentially, I may do The Judge instead, but house of Gold is most likely what I will play.

Mindfulness Meditation Exploration - W8

Through this two month long experiment, we learned all about mindfulness and meditation. We started by studying the benefits of this practice, then researched the best ways to meditate. After 5 weeks of research, we began our mindful meditation. I meditated in the early morning, and Lauren meditated right before she went to bed. I saw that I became more awake and alert, while Lauren’s sleep pattern improved greatly. We reflected on our experience, and would like to continue to practice mindfulness and meditation. Before this project started, we didn’t have a clue about what mindfulness meditation is, but now, we feel like it has positively impacted our lives and hope to share our experiences with other peers who struggle with getting enough sleep and staying awake and alert during the day.

Mindfulness Meditation Exploration - W7

Today we reflected on the positive experiences we had while meditating. We considered the benefits we received such as being more relaxed, less stressed, and having more energy. Overall we will use this information to help us communicate more effectively with our peers. It will also give us ethos when it comes to giving those around us advice about mindfulness meditation.

20 Time Update

This week, I learned a new song from the main tutorial page I watch on YouTube, which was very nice, because this happened to be the other main song I wanted to learn. The song is Screen and this is the video: https://goo.gl/twq89w With this, I shoud have plenty of songs learned in order to get the final version of my medley down. I still haven’t decided what the theme of my medley will be, given that it even has a theme. However, if I do decide to have a theme, I am quite certain I will stick with my previous idea of a Vessel medley. In other, less relevant, but still relevant news, on Monday, I received my floral kimono, similar to that of the one that Tyler Joseph wears sometimes on stage, and I will be wearing this for my final performance.

20 Time Update

This week, I worked on one of the main songs I’ve been wanting to, which is a good step in the right direction. The song that I worked on is Holding On To You. Currently, I am trying to decide if I want to have a theme for my medley, or if I just want to put together songs that sound good. If my medley is to have a theme, it will probably be songs from a certain album. This would most likely be Vessel, as I know the most songs from this album.

This week, I have continued to develop my medley form the rough draft. I have changed it a bit from it’s original composition, but so far it still uses the same songs as my first draft. However, there are a couple of songs that I still want to learn that I think will replace others currently in my medley. Among these are Screen and Holding on to You.

Research Log

Today I just found some more tips and tricks that I can use on my phone to create cool and eye-catching pictures. I also tried a few out tips and cool ideas out today in the hallway that worked out pretty well. I will start taking pictures next week, which is spring break, with Sydney for the project.

Mindfulness Meditation Exploration - W6

Today we focused on what we should think about while meditating. It is during our period of experimental meditation, and we found that this was a question that we both had and did not know how to address on our own. We found 20 tips ranging anywhere from focusing on our breathing to contemplating the vast majority of matter and space. We will use these tips to help us meditate for the last week of our 2 week trial. Overall, this will help us to more effectively inform our peers about how to meditate in order to reduce stress.

Mindfulness Meditation Exploration - W5

Today we worked to generate a plan of action for practicing meditation. We will start meditation on Monday the 21st, and end on Monday the 28. We also revisited our schedule that will allow us to successfully build up the ability to meditate successfully for longer periods of time. After our trial we will reflect on the pros, cons, and personal benefits we experienced. This information will allow us to make the best suggestions for our peers about practicing meditation.

20 Time - Week 4

                    You, as the owner a dog, must take good care of your puppy or dog. Your dog must have respect towards you, and you must respect their needs and their motivations. Mindfulness Meditation Exploration - W4


Today we learned how often and how long you need to meditate for. It is important to attempt to mindfully reflect every day for at least 5 minutes. We also devised a schedule for our first round of meditation. We looked at a 2 week period for our schedule because it would allow us enough time to build up a resistance and comfort with the strategies. We will use this in our overall project as the test portion of our investigation. After we successfully meditate in one fashion, we will move on to learning how to become more mindful through healthful rest. After both of our tests, we will proceed to reflect on our experiences and work to present our findings to our peers.

20 Time 3: Catching Up

During these past few weeks, I completely fell behind!!  Sports went into gear and I completely sidetracked.  Although, while doing homework and other stressful tasks, I found that I was more stressed than I have been lately.  This is good news because I know my techniques are working!!  I plan on continuing to find new ways to relieve stress and fill in for the past two weeks over spring break.  I am also considering asking others how they personally relieve their stress and test it on a group.

Mindfulness Meditation Exploration - W3


Today, we learned about how to meditate and how to become more mindful. This will allow us to know more about our topic and will let us actually experience the mindful meditation. Knowing how to meditate and be mindful will help show us benefits of meditation, and we will be able to judge how effective it is ourselves. It will also allow us to teach others how to meditate.

20 Time Update

This week, I worked on a couple new songs on the Ukulele, including Car Radio and March to the Sea. I have decided that my medley will be entirely made up of Twenty One Pilots Songs. In addition, I did a first draft of my medley on Friday, which is a pretty good start, but I will improve on it quite a bit throughout the rest of the semester. I may or may not change some of the songs from my first draft, but for now I am happy with the songs I chose.

20 Time 3: Meditation and Limited Technology

Today, I researched two more techniques I will try for the next two weeks.  I have found that Meditation and limited Internet and cell phone use will improve stress levels.  I plan to have anyone willing to participate meditate over the weekend before or after doing homework.  The next weekend, I plan to dedicate a day to which no phones are used.  The last two weeks went great as well!  I tested taking a bath and coloring in an adult coloring book.  So far, the best technique has been coloring in a coloring book!!

20 Time Update

Today, I spent our work time preparing and practicing my elevator pitch so that I could present it effectively. The song that I played a part of in my presentation was The Judge by Twenty One Pilots. When I presented, I did pretty well in doing so. I am looking forward to continuing to learn more things on the ukulele this semester.

20 Time 3: Coloring Books and Hot Baths!

Today I researched two different ways of relieving stress.  I found coloring in an Adult Coloring Book and taking a bath.  I also researched the science behind why this will work.  There is no real scientific explanation of why these coloring books relieve stress, but many encourage it and says it works.  I also found that taking a bath may decrease your stress levels.  This is because it stimulates your blood flow and calms your nervous system.  In the next two weeks, I will test these two techniques and have others test them as well!

This week Karleigh & I  officially decided what project we wanted to do for our 20 time. Today for our project we are researching healthy meal options at Fast Food restaurants, that are not only nutritious but fast! Next week for our project I hope that we will begin making/researching different recipes. As of right now everything is up today, and I am not far behind yet! Wish us luck!

20 Time 2/10

Today, I learned how to create a powtoon, and also I'm just brainstorming ideas on what I am going to be doing for taking pictures. I haven't started researching yet, but I hope to be researching next class.
This week I made the final decision on what I am doing my 20 time project on. I started researching my topic. Next week I hope to continue researching. I also hope to set up interviews with college coaches. So far I am staying on my planned course and up to date with what I am wanting to do.

20 Time - Week One

          Today I learned some of the best ways to train your dog to walk by your side; or at least getting him to there. The two ways that I learned go from stopping in your tracks to just walking in the opposite direction when the dog starts to pull on the leash.


The PS4 has better graphics and more frames per second meaning way better game quality. The Xbox One’s facts online are different than what it actually is. I think that they run both the same fps.

Mindfulness Meditation Exploration - W2

Today we learned the numerous benefits of mindfulness meditation. Aside from emotional benefits such as allowing people to form deep connections with one another, there are innumerable physical benefits such as lowering blood pressure and improving sleep. We will ultimately use this information to support our experience with mindfulness meditation. Knowing why you are doing something makes it easier and more beneficial to do in the long run.


Music and Emotion

The past week I just got a start to my project really. I began researching and just trying to find sources that are credible. I'm not entirely sure how this will pan out in the end, but I have a decent foundation now.

This week my partner, Elias and I have decided what we are doing for our project. We are researching how to shoot a lacrosse ball faster. After we research we will put it into test. Workouts and videos will be coming your way to see what goes into being able to shoot a lacrosse ball. We are now ready to present our elevator pitch.e

20 Time 2: Starting Up My Project!

These past two weeks have given me the chance to start up my project and get the ball rolling.  I have completed my Proposal and I'm all ready to present it!  I can't wait for others to hear about my project and see how excited I am for it!  I've already tested one technique.  I had my friends chew gum while doing stressful tasks (such as homework).  On average, it received 6 out of 10.  I have decided that I will rate it on a scale of 1-10.  1 will be it made you more stressed, 5 will mean it stayed the same, and 10 means it improved your stress.  Currently, I am testing if drinking tea makes stress levels go down.  So far, it seems to be working!  This project has been really fun so far and I'm excited to keep progressing!!

20 Time 1: Preparing For My Project

Today I researched negative effects of stress.  I will use this information in my elevator pitch to get others to want to relieve their stress.  I will also mention that improving your stress makes your body healthier.  During my presentation, I would like to ask other students to participate in my studies.  I need as many test subjects as I can get in order for the data to be as accurate as possible.  Before next Wizard Wednesday, I would like to have tested two stress relieving techniques because two weeks will have passed.  I found that drinking black tea and chewing gum have shown to have improved stress levels.  However I would like to test it before recommend it.

Today I started to look at what a typical golfer in college does in their golf game and why coaches want their players that are able to  do these things. I learned about how far a girl typically hits the ball, how many putts per rounds, and scramble percentage. All this information will be useful to help me to start my project on the actually sport, the main skills you need to have to be able to play in college.

20 Time Update- Hannah Bornhoft


Today I learned more about the Japanese language itself. I learned there is hiragana, kantan kana, and  the kanji alphabet. I will use this information because I have to decide which alphabet to learn to write. I learned that hiragana and kantan kana go together and they are easier than kanji, so I will most likely learn to write hiragana and kantan kana. I felt like I learned a lot today and I am starting to feel more comfortable with learning to write in Japanese.

20 time project

This week, I chose what I wanted to accomplish with this 20 time project. I decided that I am going to learn how to become a photographer later in life, and how to take good pictures of things right now.
